You Can’t Microwave a Legacy
(And Other Hard Truths About Success)
If you feel you’re running fast but you’re not sure where you’re headed, this post is for you.
(And if you think results are a "2-minute noodles" thing — you definitely need to read till the end)
"Coach, how long will it take?"
I get this question all the time.
How long will it take to reignite the spark in my relationship?
How long will it take to find my soulmate?
How long before I break my inner resistance and become a success story?
They ask with that silent hope: Please tell me it's going to happen next week... or better, overnight.
I wish I could smile and say, "Sure, let’s deliver the baby tomorrow!"
But my friend, life doesn’t work like Amazon Prime.
Even if you understand manifestation, even if you master the Law of Attraction, you cannot override the laws of nature.
- A seed takes time to become a tree.
- A relationship takes time to heal or to blossom.
- Building a business, finding the love of your life, transforming your identity — all of it takes effort, patience, and, most importantly, alignment.
No, there are no express lanes to true success.
And if someone’s selling you a "3-day soulmate formula" or "7-minute spiritual awakening," you should probably run faster than Usain Bolt.
The Problem: We’re Obsessed With Speed, Not Direction
One of my favourite authors, Stephen Covey, gave a brilliant metaphor in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People:
"People are busy climbing the ladder of success, only to realize the ladder was leaning against the wrong wall."
We’re so caught up checking tasks, meeting targets, running faster every day —but have you stopped to check whether you're running toward a destination that actually matters to you?
Or are you trapped in the rat race, chasing someone else’s dream?
Running endlessly for promotions, salaries, awards, without even noticing:
- Your health is deteriorating.
- Your relationships are withering.
- Your inner peace is dying a slow death.
I’m not saying money and material success aren’t important.
They absolutely are. But at what cost?
Because here's the brutal truth most people realize too late:
You can win the rat race… but you’re still a rat.
The Real Cost of Blind Ambition
We’ve seen it too often.
Multi-millionaires ending their own lives.
Celebrities with "everything" feeling empty inside.
Corporate warriors retiring at 45 with a bank balance full of zeroes — and a heart full of regrets.
Why?
Because they bought into the illusion that happiness is a destination.
"Once I achieve this... I'll finally be happy."
"Once I find my partner... I'll finally feel complete."
But happiness isn’t at the end of the journey.
Happiness is the journey.
As my mentor Siddharth Rajsekar beautifully says:
"It’s not about how much money you make. It’s about who you become in the process."
The Courage to Pause (and Re-Choose)
Here's one of the most liberating lessons life has taught me:
No matter how far you’ve travelled down the wrong road, you can always pause, turn around, and choose a new path.
The cost of returning is always lesser than the cost of continuing blindly.
Yes, it’s going to be uncomfortable.
Yes, it’s going to challenge your ego.
Yes, your mind will say, "But I've already come so far!"
But if you already know deep inside that this road is NOT leading you to fulfilment, continuing further is just delaying the inevitable heartbreak.
The sooner you stop, re-align, and start walking toward YOUR true north, the better.
Self-Reflection Time: 3 Brutally Honest Questions
If you’re serious about living life on your own terms — not society's — grab a pen and journal these questions:
1. What am I truly chasing — and why?
(Am I running after a goal I chose, or one society handed me?)
2. What am I sacrificing in this chase?
(My health? Relationships? Inner peace?)
3. What will I regret more — stopping and changing direction today, or living with regret tomorrow?
Because trust me:
On your deathbed, you won't be thinking about how many hours you clocked in at work.
You'll be thinking about the laughs you missed, the love you didn’t nurture, the life you didn’t fully live.
Final Thought: You Are Not a Machine. You Are a Miracle.
You are not here to "optimize" life like a robot.
You are here to EXPERIENCE life in all its messy, glorious beauty.
Success isn’t about speed.
Success is about soulful alignment.
You can build your dream life — yes.
You can find that love, that peace, that abundance — yes.
But not by rushing.
By choosing the right path — and staying on it with patience, courage, and conscious joy.
